Italy boasts one of the richest variety of plant life in the world: monumental trees, gardens, parks, natural reserves, woods and almost untouched wild areas. In Italy there is a wide number of registered huge trees, among which at least 300 are considered as “monumental” and are viewed as “patriarchs”  of immense naturalistic, historical and cultural value. Some are found in botanic gardens, some in city centers or in wild inaccessible places.

ALGOTOUR, in collaboration with SIA (Società Italiana di Arboricoltura – Italian Society of Arboriculture) and ITALIAN BOTANICAL HERITAGE – the first Italian IT project on Italian botanical heritage – will lead you through different itineraries to discover our arboreal patriarchs. These travels appeal to experts who work in this sector as well as to students and people who are interested in trees. They  include visits to gardens, parks, old villages, botanical museums, prestigious cellars, excellence nurseries and much more. Part of the proceeds will be allocated to the Italian Society of Arboriculture for the development of Italian forestry heritage safeguard projects.

Practical information. Itineraries take 3-4 days. Usually a minimum number of 12 people  is required but we can also offer customized one-to-one solutions. In addition to guided tours and meetings it is possible to book  specific individual activities such as tree-climbing on one of the above mentioned majestic trees, pruning shows, garden history classes, wine tasting, balloon trips.
